$370 and 5lbs after adding the Prairie Belt that this pack needs to be fully functional
The Decker Pack Frame takes the proven load capacity of the Ute / qui-Ya chassis and strips it down to just the chassis and a robust compression system. From there, you can build it out how you like. It has the following features:
- dual 7000 series aluminum stays
- full size framesheet
- 3 horizontal compression straps on each side
- 2 top compression straps
- center compression yoke for the horizontals and top straps to clip into. it can be replaced with any of our pockets by switching the repair side release buckles from the yoke to the pocket.
- sewn on hypalon / loop laminate capture flap that can tensioned at two different locations on the sides of the frame, or taken all the way to the top of the frame
This configuration allows for all sorts of different load options from oversized dry bags to jerry cans to meat loads to day packs to multiday expedition loads.
If you're a thruhiker who is tired of getting beaten up by "packs" with little to no load carriage, you can strip this down to a sub 4lb pack that is capable of loads in the 100lb range but you'll forget you have on with a typical trail load.
For day hunting and certain military applications, the addition of a Decker Pocket makes a very versatile load hauling system.
