Now, as an owner of a GR0 and a Bullet Ruck, I'm partial to the GORUCK line. I usually buy them on sale, but at full price the GR2 is the only time I've ever hesitated to buy from a company I already like and trust. IMO it doesn't have the full feature set necessary for a backpacking system.

It's a 40L pack, and has an optional field pocket to expand space, as well as some compression straps that tie into a "brick bag" or compression sack that should make it a good pack in terms of expandability and size...but it doesn't have nice hip straps, and the internal frame is not nearly as heavy-duty as the Ute. It also doesn't come with a sternum strap, but luckily I already own one.

That being said, it would make a great travel pack because of its gret internal organization pockets, it's square sides, and the 1000D construction.

My question would be the intended primary use - backpacking off pavement, or travel? That is what would drive my choice.
