Just checked the product website.  It says the Recon comes with Grimlocks but no stabilizer strap.

Here is a pic of mine loaded up with Sig P239 in the pistol compartment and the front pocket full of little things I need.

Just checked on the organizer. It's 9x7.5 and the recon kit bag is 11.5x7. So obviously the organizer is a half inch taller. Not undo able. Not sure if Kifaru has gone to sewing to actual PALS spacing. I had heard at one time that they didn't. I would be surprised if that hadn't been fixed yet.   Another option if you were looking for more organization in a more svelt package is the full size kit bag. Perfect for all uses except when you wanna run detachable box magazine rifles. That's why I have switched to the Recon. Even though I don't have a rifle that runs magazines at this time!

Hi joe, thanks for the info I'm not ordering just yet, waiting to sort some funding out, I'll more than likely go with regular kit bag given what you have said. Once gain thanks for the input, much appreciated.

Just curious if there is an option to order this without the harness?  I have no intention of using the harness that comes with it ever, plan on using the Runners Harness.  Or will there be a Runners Harness/Combo in the future that I should wait for?

Its hard to imagine ever offering Kit Bags without the back harness. In any event, removing that probably wouldn't represent much savings.

In the case of the Tarahumara (the other half of the Runner's Harness equation), we'll be open to substituting the Tara's standard harness for a Runner's Harness if a person prefers.

Thanks for getting back to me.  Unfortunately, that doesn't help, as I already own a Tara, so I won't be needing two of those harnesses. Much to think about!

Can anyone tell me if there is a dimensional difference between the Recon KB and the Runners KB? I want one primarily for running, but would love the versatility of the MOLLE to use it as a simple range rig. I realize i'll need to purchase the stabilizer kit, as well.

 Nevermind, answered my own question:

on your FB page : "We started with our existing Runner's Kit Bag, because you don't want to hang more stuff off of the front of a regular KB. This will give folks wanting a custom loadout a lot more options."

Just returned from three weeks in Mongolia, including two weeks trekking around in the Gobi Desert.

Took my Recon Kit Bag (foliage) with me and added some pouches from TAD Gear and Maxpedition to the PALS grid in front.

Alternated a GPS and mobile phone in iComm pouch.

Kept filters, batteries and camera accessories in BC4

Spyderco ParaMilitary folder and Lens Pen in Maxpedition Double Sheath.

Passport, money and a pair of Steiner 10.5 X 28 Wildlife Pro binoculars in the main compartments.

Pics attached.
