There has been a lot of interest in the regular Kit Bag for running since it came out. Quite a few folks have used it for running with varying degrees of success. Mark Westfall, a friend of ours and accomplished bowhunter who reminds us of Mordecai Sackett*, came up with a stabilizer kit for his regular Kit Bag. We decided to expand on that and create a Kit Bag specifically for running. Mark did a fair amount of testing on the prototype and we went round and round on the stabilizer kit, ending back up with Mark's original design.

The Runner's Kit Bag is tuned for running, but might be attractive to folks who want to carry no more than a pistol and a couple of small items on their chest. It is the same footprint as the regular Kit Bag, but 1" thick instead of 2" thick. The main compartment of the regular Kit Bag is omitted, leaving just the pistol compartment and the front zip pocket. It is perfect for pistol, spare mag, wallet, folding knife, cell phone, and keys.

The Runner's Kit Bag includes the running stabilizer kit and (2) grimlocks, but does not include a docking kit. If you want to dock it to a pack, you need to order a docking kit as well.

* Mordecai Sackett appears in Louis Lamour's "Ride the River". He is an old time longhunter in the eastern mountains who runs everywhere he goes and has a haunting call that he uses when he's on the trail to unnerve his prey.

When humans first set foot in a new continent, they came in small groups under their own power, bringing only the gear they needed. Most simply called themselves The People. Over time, those who chose the rougher freer life of the up country came to think of themselves as the Hill People.
