There is now a "setting up your Kit Bag" page under the "How To" menu on our website. There is also a new thread "what's in your kit bag?" that you might want to post to as you get it figured out for yourself.

Eagle is still MIA, to the point that we may well be cancelling the order we've had since AUGUST. We'll be seeing First Spear's sample next week, and they've already got us slated for a mid February shipment assuming we like the sample. First Spear claims they'll be capable of delivering on a standing monthly order. If that is true, we'll be out of the woods on our availability problems.

First Spear is a brand new company. It was founded by the guy who ran Eagle for the last decade or so (who also happens to be the son of Eagle's founder). It is staffed largely by folks who have left Eagle in disgust since Eagle's acquisition by Safariland.  Production is domestic, and I believe their facility is in Missouri. I'm sort of expecting some announcements from them surrounding SHOT, but don't know for sure.

First Spear's sample Kit Bag looks very good and they're ramping up for a coyote run in mid February followed closely by a ranger green run. We should have foliage in stock in March.

Pricing is identical.

Quality on the First Spear produced KBs is as good or better than Eagle.

There are some minor production differences that you'd have to compare very closely side by side (and maybe have sewing experience yourself) to see. Let's just say that there's no need for us to change our pictures or descriptions. At that level of detail, they're identical.

The coyote shipment will be in the mail to us tomorrow, and ranger green is still looking like this month. Look for a notification mail sometime next week.

Might as well announce it here as well -- we've already got shipments of "bike bottle" and usgi 1qt sized pals mountable water bottle holsters in the mail to us. If you look around at various pictures, you'll see them in use. We've been using this same design ourselves for a couple of years now. This is a coyote shipment. We're not sure what demand will be, so we don't currently have a standing monthly order like we do with the Kit Bags.

Finally, First Spear is working on prototyping the Mountain Serape as well. Materials sourcing has always been the bugaboo on this one, but they're working on it. Hopefully we'll have those in stock and for sale by spring time.

Yep, that's a coyote prototype from First Spear I've been using for about a month now - albeit with a different harness because they didn't get the prototype harness quite right.
