Is there anything out there? The HPG serape looks like a great product, but I'd never have occasion to use it as a serape. I don't spend time outdoors when I'm not either moving or sleeping.

If you decide on something other than the mountain serape, wiggy's makes some good bags at a good price. All American made.

Enlightened Equipment and Mount Laurel Designs come to mind. Nunatak is also releasing a synthetic line

There's a ton of cottage industry companies out there. Wiggy's is great - a bit on the heavy / bulky side, but they last forever and are warmer than other similar temp. bags. I've got a few of their bags and they're a great deal for the money, especially if you catch them on sale. MLD mentioned above makes really good stuff too. I've never had one of their sleeping bags, but they have a great reputation and the other gear I've had from them is top notch.
